Showing up for others really starts with showing up for yourself. We often hear that self-care and self-awareness are important, but we may not pause to consider why they matter—especially in our relationships with young children. The way we are feeling, what we bring from our own experiences, and how we make sense of challenging moments all influence how we see, interpret, and respond to children. This webinar explores the importance of understanding your “why” as an anchor—the values, purpose, and relationships that ground you in your work—and self-reflection as a compass that helps you notice what is happening within yourself and how you are showing up in the moment. Building awareness of who you are, what you bring, and what you need can help you manage stress and respond to challenging moments with greater intention. Ultimately, understanding ourselves is an important part of supporting young children. When we stay connected to our purpose, pay attention to what is happening within us, and practice meaningful self-care, we are better able to remain present, responsive, and connected with and for the children we serve.
